Unlike virtually all other contemporary PCs, the Mac OS (initially designated simply System Software, with a version number appended) was graphically based. Rather than typing commands and directory paths at text prompts, users moved a mouse pointer to visually navigate the Finder—a series of virtual folders and files, represented by icons. The Dashboard option, first introduced in OS X 10.4 Tiger, used to be a prominent Mac feature, housing sticky notes, a weather interface, a clock, a calculator, and other customizable widgets. The history of macOS, Apple's current Mac operating system originally named Mac OS X until 2012 and then OS X until 2016, began with the company's project to replace its 'classic' Mac OS.That system, up to and including its final release Mac OS 9, was a direct descendant of the operating system Apple had used in its Macintosh computers since their introduction in 1984.

Allerton is a suburb of Liverpool, England. Historically in Lancashire, it is located 3 miles (4.8 km) southeast of Liverpool city centre, bordered by Mossley Hill, Woolton, Hunt's Cross and Garston.
Allerton has a number of large houses in the prestigious Calderstones Park area, with mainly 1930s semi-detached housing around the shopping area of Allerton Road. Allerton is paired with nearby Hunts Cross to form the Allerton and Hunts Cross city council ward. The population of this ward at the 2011 census was 14,853.[1]
History[edit]
In the Domesday Book it appears as Alretune meaning 'the alder enclosure', derived from the Old Englishalr 'alder' and tún 'enclosure or village'.
Allerton was made an urban district by the Local Government Act 1894, and added to the county borough of Liverpool on 9 November 1913.[2]
In the past ten years many new bars and restaurants have opened on Allerton Road, Mossley Hill and it is a popular place for pubgoers. Shield color mac os.

Both stations offer services to Liverpool city centre and Manchester, but Liverpool South Parkway also has services to Southport and Hunts Cross (on the MerseyrailNorthern Line) and also the fast service to Birmingham. The former Allerton railway station has been replaced with Liverpool South Parkway, although the old platforms are in use at the new station.
The nearest major bus stop is at Liverpool South Parkway, with the 86 service to the city centre and bus shuttles to Liverpool John Lennon Airport. There are several bus stops around Aigburth with links to various districts throughout the city and also the city centre. https://widgettorrent.mystrikingly.com/blog/wellout-mac-os.

Allerton Road features in the Beatles' song, 'Penny Lane'. The 'shelter in the middle of the roundabout', the barber shop and possibly the bank (whose banker 'never wears a Mac') mentioned in the song are all located on Smithdown Place, Mossley Hill, which is at the junction of Allerton Road, Penny Lane and Smithdown Road. The suburb of Allerton also features in the first episode of BBC Drama Spooks, where a bomb exploded outside the home of a family planning doctor. The attack was organised by a group of pro-life campaigners.

An installation error occurs sometimes for when upgrading from OS X Snow Leopard to OS X Lion “Can’t download the additional components needed to install Mac OS X” – Check your network configuration as the install needs to pull down software over the internet.
But the network configuration is OK.!
Check that Software Update can connect directly to Apple Software Update Servers not a custom internal one, remove any Managed Preferences if it is a managed host.
Option 1
If that still doesn’t get rid of the message I have found on a device that the drive needed to be reformatted – the only thing different about the drive I was trying to install to was that it had a Boot Camp partition on it The Boot Camp partition might be a red herring but certainly reformatting the disk solved the issue.
So:
- clone the main HD drive to an external disk use CCC – link below
- boot from the external
- erase/reformat the main HD – use HFS Extended Journaled
- clone back the main HD from the external
- reboot from the main drive
- run the installation upgrade again
This time – no problems.
If you don’t care whats on the disk just erase it and run the upgrade, I wanted to keep all the data intact in my example, hence the clone back. Lights out (itch) (mattclem) mac os.
Cloning courtesy of the fantastic bombastic CCC.

Another potential solution is to remove any RAM over 4GB run the install and then put the additional RAM back in after – even then try and limit the RAM slots to one, so not 2GB in each – rather 1 slot with 4GB.
